No Steam Notification Sounds while in game. Please Help

When Im in game i see the notifications in the corner of my screen but i dont hear the sound. I Checked my settings and everything should work and it doesnt. Another thing i noticed is that when i take a screen shot theres no sound aswell. If anyone know how to solve the problem please help.

Make sure your Steam message sounds are checked: Settings -> Friends -> "When I receive a message" -> "Play a Sound"

Then make sure your PC is not limiting Steam chat sounds: Click the speaker icon on your taskbar -> Mixer, you should see some volume sliders. Make sure those are not muted, especially for Steam.

yea i have all of the settings checked everything should be working but it doesnt, and weird thing is it works when im not in game but when im in one it doesnt

Does it happen to a particular game? Or all games?

Are you on the Steam beta client? If not, try switching to that. Settings -> Account -> Beta Participation.

If you have a Nvidia card, apparently turning off the Nvidia share feature fixes this.

check the steam settings maybe you have something not checked

Open chat window, lower right, press the cogwheel up to the right. Check notifications, see if they are marked, if not mark them. See if this help?

i have it checked, everything, just no sounds .. i get the notification on the bottom right, but like i said no sound.. i tried everything kinda :(

it started with the new update of steam >.>
