Can't install or update DOTA 2 - Disk write error
I have a problem with DOTA 2.
Since the new big update of dota I've been having a problem updating the game.
It kept saying disk write error, restart helped sometimes but now I can't seem to update it even after a restart...

I tried to uninstall steam (manually), used 3rd party softwares (ccleaner, defrag, ..) to clean it.
Then I made a clean install of steam, tried to download dota again. However it stopped again at 6.6GB and I got "Disk write error" again and this popped up with the error "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\downloading\570\game\bin\win32\lightingbuilder.dll"
I also tried to "Clear download cache" and "Verify integrity of game cache.." no luck.
I even tried to install it on my other new hdd (3 months old) with no luck.
I'm on my admin account while installing it as well, so that's not the problem.
Also I don't have any problems with updating and installing other games on steam (CS:GO, DayZ, etc...). So the problem is only with dota.
Btw I have 500GB free space on disk so that's also not the problem.

Please help me, cuz I feel like smashing my PC to pieces :csgogun::doll_sigil::doll_sigil::doll_sigil:

It was the antivirus. The IObit was causing the problem. Just uninstall the antivirus and get a different one.

As of 19/12/2020 The disk write error was repaired on my PC thru Clear netsh winsock reset then clear download cache in steam.

For me, clear download cache in the downloads setting works
