"Steam Authentication Failed. Please start a Steam client"
This happened when trying to open Empyrion from Steam and also had similar message when trying to open DotA after a Steam "update"...HELP!!!

try verifying the file of the game you want to play.
library --> right click on the game you want to play/having problems with --> properties --> local files --> verify integry cache/files

verified integrity of all games that i am having issue with and all 100% validated...

Yeah... I'm in the same boat as you Brewzor...

I can't get any of my games working now. It's been 3 days now. I submitted to Steam, but have yet to have gotten word.

The second I hit the "Library" tab, Steam crashes. If I open the library in "small view", I can open Empyrion, but then I get the authentication error.

I'm very annoyed.
