Mine has gone to my max speed of 25 MB/s (200 mbps), so your internet is either a max of 12 MB/s or your current connection is not running at your full internet speed. Either way though, 12 MB/s is good speed.

I'm curious also...my home wifi PEAKS at 1.9 MB/s, but my university wifi seems really fast, average of 12 MB/s peaking at over 20. Is my home wifi just crap?

It has nothing to do with your WiFi, it has everything to do with what your internet provider delivers. University's have really fast internet most of the time, that does not mean your home internet is as fast. Look what your internet contract says and what speeds you pay for.
Only then can you determine if your internet is slow or not.
If you peak at 1,9 MB/s then that would be a standard DSL 16k connection.

True, i also hear that it depends what site you downlaod from, You can't get 12mb or 1.5 mb in any site, it all depends on the 1) Internet Provider 2) Site you downlaod from.
