PS4 controller on PC..... help please!

I've been using DS4windows for a while so i can use my PS4 controller on PC but for some reason i can't figure out it doesn't work anymore and in the program it tells me no controllers are connected. It also says i have the latest version of the program installed.
I've been trying to figure it out for about an hour now and i'm lost can someone help?

I have the exact same problem.

For ages I've been using DS4Windows, but I heard you could uninstall that and simply use Steam instead - so I uninstalled DS4Windows but now it seems like nothing is happening!

Going to the controller page in steam gives me the message "no controller detected".

I've tried restarting, unplugging the controller etc but nothing happens.

Same here, Steam tells me there's no controller detected as well.

Just discovered a fix!
(for anyone wanting to see the original guide, google SCP Toolkit Manual Driver Removal)

Obviously BE CAREFUL when following these steps:

1. Go to your Device Manager
2. Go to LibuavK USB Devices
3. Uninstall everything in that exact folder, MAKE SURE you check "DELETE THE DRIVER SOFTWARE FOR THIS DEVICE"
4. Click Scan for Hardware Changes

Steam should pretty quickly find you have a PS4 controller plugged in, which is awesome!
