Game in my library I didn't buy?

I just noticed that I have How To Survive in my library, which is definitely not a game I would have bought for myself (or that anybody I know would have gifted to me). It says it was purchased on December 10th, but doesn't show up in my last 6 months of transactions and with a purchase date so far back I don't think it can be a free weekend thing? I'm just very confused right now tbh what's going on :/ Anybody have any ideas where this random game I don't want might have come from?

Two things:

a) gifts don't just appear in your library, you have to actually redeem them
b) games don't just appear in your library, you have to buy them or redeem a key

do you use a shared library of another account? Or in general, are you using family share?
Can you install and open it?

It might come from family sharing.

b) incorrect. games can be added to your library as a complementary games that a developer/publisher would do on special occasions.

Games get added to people's libraries for free all the time.

Dev makes game, people buy.
Dev makes new game, wants to thank everyone who bought first, adds new game for free as part of the old game's package.

All free if you owned the originals before release of the new one. Plenty more but those are the ones I own and remember.

Thanks for the link, says 'Retail' for the mystery game so it looks like it should have been activated via a license key. Again, something I'm pretty sure I didn't do lol so I'm gonna chalk this up to a weird glitch or whatever and call it a day, thanks for the suggestions everyone.

it's not FAKE I HAD HAVE THE SAME THING BUT WITH A DIFFERENT GAME "RAID WORLD WAR 2" i have never bought this game and it's not even out

It's a beta, not the full game and you got it free for owning Payday 2.

Huh, I own that also apparently.
If you find a game that you don't know where it came from just click the "support" thing in the links section of Steam when you have the game selected in "detail view".
Or just click help>support and search for the game on the support site.

On that link it says this for me: "Dec 23, 2015 - Activated as part of: PAYDAY 2"
I didn't know that you could see this info on that page but I found it real quick.

Same Thing Happened with me I Never bought Expendebros and its not in my library put when it was free for a day i got it and i can still playi it but not showing up im my library before spring 2018 it says i got it complimentory... So I Guess thats cool. Probly not to worry either. a free game is a free game
