Steam wallet illegal

I've heard from my friends that you can buy steam wallet illegal, which mean u get cheaper price when u buy it. 50$ steam wallet but u pay it for 10$. I was just curious what will happend if u reedem it in ur steam account, will it got ban? Pls let me know

If those cards have been stolen or acquired through fraud, the money could be removed from your account and the account suspended until the money has been paid back.
So you'd pay a lot more in the end.

It's on bahasa indonesia so u probably won't understand, but they are saying that their account r being suspended and revoke??? If the account got suspended *if*, will it be a cooldown or a permanent ban????

If the code will work, they will make a chargeback or if the stolen credit card they bought it with will be shut down by the rightful owner and a chargeback will be made by the bank, the money and everything you bought with it will be gone and your account can be banned for fraudulent activity.

To sell a 50$ gift card for 10$ is only possible if you steal the money for it. If you take part in a crime you will get punished for it. I think you should be smart enough to know that or I guess you are not old enough to be on Steam anyway.

I should add "payed back with the same payment method" which is impossible if it was a stolen credit card. So most likely permanent.

No, i didn't steal anything. I search for "steam wallet illegal" and i click one of the chart and i see many people try to sell those. And ofc i want one but i am consern (wrong spell). That's why i post this at discussion

THEY have stolen the credit card, they buy the wallet with. After they have your money, they have legal money and you have the illegal money. That's why they don't keep the wallet code for themselves. Why would someone give you 50$ for 10$ if not because in the end they have your money and you have nothing, which means they have 10$ plus... Please start thinking or I will assume you are 5 and shouldn't be on that platform, because my 12 year old nephew has no difficulty to understand how this works.

Edit: If I understand your profile right, you were already scammed of some valuable items. So you should have learned from that experience, right?

OF COURSE IT IS NOT SAFE, IT IS A SCAM, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL GET BANNED PERMANENTLY AND THESE PEOPLE WILL RUN WITH YOUR 10$ AND LAUGH ABOUT YOU! Is this more clear and answers your question?
