Why is Steam updating every time I turn on my computer- not even Windows 10 does this anymore!!! (and we all know how irritating that was..)

Is Steam just verifying updates or is it realy downloading, extracting and installing files?

It says it is Updating and "Verifying Installation". Is there some malicious code that is circulating within the Steam network?

Happening to me aswell, no idea what is going on.
Updating every time some try to destroy steam envy it's popularity
It is observing the game results then update to correct issues after a while
It's for a better gaming

It's not malware. Just a bug in the Steam software that makes this take some more time then it usually does. I suffered it as well before the last Steam Beta update but now it takes a small second again.

Just thinking... : is there anybody with a SSD and this problem ?
Or is it just people with a good old HDD like me ?

i had the problem a few days ago? or a week ago.. it was really recent. But.. today when i loaded up Steam i don't recall having that issue. But i'll shut down and restart just to double-confirm.

i have SSD, so that's why i responded. So ya, it's happened to both

~
Just checked, definitely didn't happen for me today.. but was happening a few days ago.

That may not be Steam, but Windows thinking it takes too long to close.
But that's not the cause for me (and others).

Steam ALWAYS verifies itself when starting.
