Nvidia control panel settings
I always like to get the most from my hardware, so I've been tinkering with the Nvidia settings on my GTX1080. I've always heard the trick with Nvidia is to adjust the Power Management Mode to either Adaptive or Prefer Maximum Performance. Are there any other good tips or tricks to apply?

I use global setting vsync off for benching but otherwise have it enabled in all games, can't stand tearing of any kind, but that's why I went with high end gpu's, if you're setting pre-rendered frames to 1 you're defeating the purpose of triple buffering which is to prerender 2 frames at a time predictive to your movements and it does this so fast you can't tell, there are no jittery games (except during level buffering but that happens across the board and isn't something you can fix) everything is smooth.

pre-render frames 2
dsr factors 4x (enables supersampling in everything from games to desktop resolution, far superior to aa)
dsr smoothness 20%
multi display set to single display performance
pwr mgmt - prefer maximum performance (this does not prevent downclocking as claimed above, your card will perform better at gaming with this enabled as it allows the card to draw full power during usage)
shader cache on
threaded optimization auto or off
triple buff on
vsync on

Since I started messing with aa in games (like cod-aw) on my 4k monitor I had 3840x2160p with 4xmsaa and maxed out settings (except pre-load shaders during cinematics and one other dumb option) and it's not just playable it's 60fps playable, I am surprised at how much I can throw at sli 1070's, games look pristine, immaculate, but motion on the 4k isn't nearly as good as motion on the 144hz 1080p I have. Dark areas have ghosting everywhere.

Doesnt prevent downclocking no
but it does make the clocks go higher than what they need to for non intense programs.
