Base building local co op
Hello,
I am really stuck trying to find a game that may have base building AND local co-op for me and my 5 year old to play. I have Minecraft but its some sort of windows edition and I cannot get it to run twice so we can play that together.

Ideally it would be something like that. Any game really where we have to work together to do something, crafting and collecting.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a game that has that?
Thanks for looking

Ark survival and Rust come to mind.

I dont think either have a local co-op option though, do they?

I don't think any survival game on PC has a local co-op option. You'd have more luck buying an Xbox One with Minecraft and 7 Days to Die.

My bad, I'm not used to people asking for "local" anymore, any reason why you can't just play on the same server online? Limited Internet I suppose?
I can't think of any local coop games that have base building.

He is 5 and I have two pcs but he needs to be in the same room as me or he starts getting stuck all the time, I am getting bored of all the Gauntlet type games and want something a little bit more interesting to do.

I have three monitors and we also have a surface tablet but short of buying two copies of everything that he might get bored of after two minutes I wanted to try and play things locally. If a crappy console can do it then I don't see why my gaming rig cant have decent split screen gaming!

Thanks anyway.

There is how to survive but he is 5, something like that but with Zero gore or bad language would be great plus, I would rather cut parts of my body off and feed it to a dog than have to spend hours playing on a low res console.

My suggesting is sort of difficult even for veterans but:
Project Zomboid, turn on sandbox mode & disable the zombies (unless you want a serious challenge) It has base building/scavanging/farming/crafting. Features local coop, online coop, online dedicated servers, local hosted & singleplayer.

Edit: it does have death.

It has blood, but under options it has "blood decals" i think which alters the amount of blood drawn ingame, it has a "none" option that might be more suitable for him.

Thanks mate but that looks very complicated for a 5 year old. I might check it out for myself though!
