Is there a way to appear offline to one person on Steam?

There's this one person who I used to play with a lot, but they've gotten really annoying and so now i'll usually put my status as offline to avoid them. I don't want to remove them because we talk sometimes in real life and we used to be friends. Any tips? Will blocking work? I don't want them to know.

Blocking them should cause you to appear offline in the client, but if they visit your profile in a web browser I believe it will still show you as online.

No you will just appear permanently offline until you un-block them.

yeah i need this too but i dont want to block them. I dont want to play the game whit them that they like but i dont want to tell him
