XBox 360 controller right stick stopped working
This was a bug in the beta version (with XInput support) but now it seems like they brought it into the main branch. The right stick no longer works for me, at least in some games like 'Remember Me'. Anyone else experience this?

Just now experiencing this. I had been playing with a new xbox 360 wired controller and suddenly the right analog stick or the D-pad isn't working in any games. Still shows working in the windows control panel. No idea what happened but it worked fine last week.

Not just Xbox 360 controller: my Xbox 360 / Xbox One / Steam controllers all do not work as of about 4 days ago. If I had any non-Steam games on PC that use controller input I could test to see if it's a Windows problem, but I don't have any of those. The controllers work on consoles; just not on PC. I'm actually pretty salty about this right now.

I just tried Witcher 3 that was bought through GOG. It acts like it's getting keyboard and mouse input instead of gamepad input. If I go into task manager and stop steam and steamservices from running it works fine. I think it's something to do with the Big Picture mode controller settings but I'm not sure how to fix it.

I may have found some help for this. Go into Big Picture Mode and go to the controller settings and disable Xbox Controller configuration support. That got mine back working to normal.

Anyone got an uptodate solution for this? My controller was fine until today and now the right stick does not work in game but windows 10 is receiving the input. I tried it out with a gog game and no issue at all, seems to be a steam thing.

edit: tried turning off the Xbox Controller configuration support in settings but that just stopped the controller from working at all in steam.

You might need to reset your machine after turning the option off. I've completely stopped using this option.

okay none of these points are fixing this issue for me. Bluddy when you say to 'reset my machine' what do you mean by this? I am getting random right stick function for a minute or less sometimes but cannot see any pattern forming. Has anyone come across a fix?

I turned off the feature, then detached all my controllers and reattached them. I then needed to reboot to get it to work properly.

I have found what seems to be a fix for me at least. I uninstalled and deleted the drivers for both xbo360 controller and receiver, then reboot my computer and downloaded new drivers but went with old drivers. I had to do this multiple times to find which drivers worked but I found the oldest ones I could get seem to be working for now. I've not yet tried it in all the games I have installed but have noticed that it only works in games that are 'officially' labeled as having controller support. Which is a shame as the steam xbox controller support was giving me controller support for other games as well.

This seems to be a windows 10 issue because I have a hackintosh boot disk as well and I can use steam controller support there without any issues.
