How to locate games for steam that are already installed
I've done this "Go to Steam > Settings > Downloads tab > Steam library folders. Add the D:\Games folder there and restart Steam. Steam should then be able to find the installed games again." and it just pops up with "Steam Library folder must be empty". Thus, you cannot add a directory with a game to the library. This is pretty sad compared to battle.net's system unless I'm missing something.

I can't even find an answer to how to install newly purchased DLC's. There's much talk about "Libraries". But there is not one folder in Steam named "Library". Too bad these computer geniuses can't make things more simple. Well, I won't be buying any more DLC's until someone can tell me how to install them!

The library is in the Steam client. Launch the client, log in. At the top click "Library". Find the game in the list on the left-hand side, left-click it. On the right-hand side will be a list of owned DLC. By default it should install with the game, but if any are unselected, you can install them by putting a tick in the checkbox next to the name of the DLC.

Ya this still doesnt work, says discovering game files in the folder, then just proceeds to download the full game anyways...so dumb

I hate to ghost this or whatever, but I had Ark:SE installed, it said it wasn't, but I can't start the install because the game is so big, I don't have room. It just says I don't have the room and thats it. Help lol

I'm dealing with this exact problem right now haha. So annoying. Literally every other Game Hub has the feature to simply locate the game. I will report back if I solve it!

I ended up reinstalling the game lol. I got a reply from Steam Support about this issue and they stated there's no workaround other than making space or reinstalling.

It happens when data is for an old version or not completed.there i did this for destiny2 and it has to download all of the game now but it also has 72GB in the steam folder as temp file
i want to know that if 72GB is actually doing something or i have to download all 90GB again?

just try to download the game to the folder where you have your game folder and it automatically sees the files and checks it .
