''The thread tried to read from or write to a viritual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Access address 0x000e9fb8 was read from.''

That sounds like this exact error: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings:_The_Battle_for_Middle-earth#Exception_Access_Violation_on_startup

Bookmark that site and reccomend it to others if it solved it :)
You can also edit the articles and add fixes that's missing.

I saw something simillar although when i go to appdata there is no battle of middle earth files, it just is a microsoft file...is my computer retarded?
Thats the issue that there is no appdata folder. The solution describes that you have to make one, it's easy with notepad.

The only issue is there are different appdata folders like AppData\Roaming\ \AppData\Local\. You should try both I guess.

tried the basic look for patches, said patches were avalible and started downloading them, at the last file it says: Failed to rename the file
I have no idea what that means and what you did exactly..

Did you try the stuff about the ini file? Did you get that problem solved?

Yeah i created a battle of middle earth files file, put a map called options.ini or whatever the last three was, copied the info from the link into it, fired the game, same results
Where did you put it exactly? Folder and file?
Sure there isn't a folder in the roaming or local folder in appdata?
There should already be a folder named after the game.

Big thanks for the help anyway!
Sure, no rush. take a break :)

Still try to fix this later, it is a quite easy fix from the sound of it. Maybe you just put the file in the wrong location.
