That sounds like this exact error: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings:_The_Battle_for_Middle-earth#Exception_Access_Violation_on_startup

Bookmark that site and reccomend it to others if it solved it :)
You can also edit the articles and add fixes that's missing.

I saw something simillar although when i go to appdata there is no battle of middle earth files, it just is a microsoft file...is my computer retarded?

Thats the issue that there is no appdata folder. The solution describes that you have to make one, it's easy with notepad.

The only issue is there are different appdata folders like AppData\Roaming\ \AppData\Local\. You should try both I guess.

I have no idea what that means and what you did exactly..

Did you try the stuff about the ini file? Did you get that problem solved?

Where did you put it exactly? Folder and file?
Sure there isn't a folder in the roaming or local folder in appdata?
There should already be a folder named after the game.

Sure, no rush. take a break :)

Still try to fix this later, it is a quite easy fix from the sound of it. Maybe you just put the file in the wrong location.
