Updating Steam Information. (Answered)

Earlier today, Steam updated, and when I logged in after the update went through, I got this message: "Updating Steam Information". However, nothing seems to have changed. I've never seen that message before, so can somebody explain to me what it means?

I did that when I saw the message. But the message came up after I logged on, but before Steam said that I was connecting, so I want to know if it means anything else.

The message wasn't that the Steam client was being updated, that already happened. This message came up after the update finished.

The message was only there for a really small amount of time. It finished in, like, 1.5 seconds.

the only reason i ask is there is a lot of shovelware and i don't know how to find the good games i hate steams store page :(

You might hate it but normal people get quite good idea about a game from videos, screenshots and most importantly from actual customer reviews.
