Steam Uninstaller removed EVERYTHING from my D Drive
I initially installed Steam to D:\Program Files\Steam
After realizing that it somehow installed to the root of my D drive, I checked the Registry to make sure I set the proper install location; and I did.

So, I figured I would just reinstall steam and that would fix the problem.

I started the uninstaller and walked away. I came back an hour later, and it had deleted my ENTIRE HARD DRIVE. I am absolutely LIVID.

I just spent 3 days installing all the software, and recovering all my files to my new computer, only to have the Steam uninstaller remove EVERYTHING. I've already wiped my old computer, and I have no ways of recovering the files, not via Recuva, or any other file recovery software.

Valve has disappointed me again with how ludicrously terrible their software is. I've lost YEARS of pictures (Many pictures of lost family members), projects, movies, IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS, Game saves, and more in less than an hour due to the ignorance of Valve. I will NEVER use Steam again, nor will I ever support Valve in any manner.

Every single piece of software Valve produces is thrown together haphazardly and called finished. This was a simple mistake, that could have been dealt with by a simple fix. The Steam uninstaller needs to ASK before deleting files that aren't directly associated with Steam.

Obviously, this isn't a question. There is nothing Valve, or any reader can do about this (apart from giving me money to grieve the loss of years of data, and pictures of my late family)

I'm posting this to ensure everybody double checks before they start willy-nilly uninstalling Steam.

If you'd like to manually uninstall Steam, the registry location is here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Valve

Note: I have over $900 in games on Steam, none of which I will ever play again due to this problem.

Yeah, I totally should have looked up the uninstall page for something before uninstalling. Have you ever done that?
