Connected laptop to new monitor, games lag
I had an idea that i should connect my 1366x768 laptop to a 1980x1080 monitor for better aiming in games. As soon as i changed the resolution games ofc started lagging. I have gtx 850m 2gb, i5 4200h 3.3 ghz and 4gb ram. Also im using VGA cable cause monitor has VGA and DVI only, and laptopVGA and HDMI

Your laptop hardly has game power to run at a that resolution due to your hardware power you need better processing power that's why you lag.

Games are now running at a higher resolution so your graphics card now has to work harder to display more pixels in that amount of time.

Underpowered laptop meets FullHD resolution, lagging occurs. Why exactly are you surprised?

i was just wondering is there a way to improve my framerate? maybe using DVI to HDMI cable? or will it be the same

It will be the same, it's not because of the cable you're using, it's because your GPU isn't powerful enough to do 1080p.

Try 720p. it's the same aspect ratio as 1080p so your games will display in full screen with no issues. It's also slighly lower than your laptop's display so your should get as good, if not better performance than you do playing on your laptop screen.

As someone said using converters don't help and your system specs.
