If your game refuses to launch from Program Files (or anywhere on "C:\" drive) you have system permission issue which means that Steam/game executable have not enough permission to execute stuff.
That's either caused by screwed up system user files, system user permissions, antivirus software, etc.
It is also generally recommended to use separate drive/partition for games so you do not need to bother with actually fixing your system :3
It was not a permissions issue, my system user files are fine, and there is no anti-virus on my system (because of issues like this.)
I would also like you to link me to anywhere this "workaround" is posted as well if it is so pubically known. I delved into coutless forums and discussions and not once did I see anyone use this.
Also for the record it is entirely possible that some games have a specific launch directions, so when you click launch it goes through a list of prerequisites and runs into an error when it's looking for something one place and it happens to be in another place. It would have nothing to do with steam, but the configuration of the game.
Never the less the fix worked for me so I don't know why you feel you need to fap about it. If it will help at least one person solve this issue for them than it's worth more than your empty criticism regarding my fix will ever be.
Two words: It works!
So thank you (you don't know how i'm glad that a friend send me on your post!)
Your solution was, in fact, the first part of the solution for this f****** incredibly annoying problem!
For the second part, I find my salvation there:
http://freewisdoms.com/download-dll-files-commonly-used-by-games/
I extract the dll files from the "pack" in the correct folders, launch Rocket League and Crusader Kings II and I saw the Light!
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcp100.dll (32-bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package runntime library)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcr100.dll (32-bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package runntime library)

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\xinput1_3.dll (32-bit version of Microsoft DirectX runntime library)
C:\Windows\System32\mfc100.dll (64-bit version of Microsoft C Runtime library)

C:\Windows\System32\xinput1_3.dll (64-bit version of Microsoft DirectX runntime library)
Note: For those ones, I was unable to install them on their folder but it seems it doesn't matter (for me nevertheless).

C:\Windows\System32\msvcr100_clr0400.dll (64-bit version of Microsoft C Runtime library)
So, thank you again! And have fun!
Hey there YoungDoggieKingKongDaSavagePom. I haven't had a chance to try this fix on Linux yet. I mainly have only used Linux for work purposes, not for gaming, but I'm interested to know if it does. If I have the time I'll install Linux on a seperate partition and attempt to replicate and fix the problem and get back to you. I do have quite a bit on my plate at the moment though, so not possitive I'll be able to do it soon.
Steam does have direct support, but I'm not sure how they would address Linux issues. Or if they would have you contact the game developers support.
Awesome GLF I'm glad that it helped, and thank you for sharing the second step you had to take to get your games working again. I didn't have to take that step, but now that it's here other people will be able to use the second step if the initial step doesn't work.
Happy to have you on board with the fix.

You can say it doesn't work, but I tried many solutions before this one that "didn't work" for me. Including what the link you just dropped here suggested. While a problem may look the same on the surface the cause of the problem may be different for a variety of people, and rigs. In other words what might fix it for some people may not fix it for others. If you want to post a suggestion for an alternative way of fixing a problem in case one doesn't work for people that's one thing. But a lot of people could clink on your link, thinking this one is completely false and have there issue persist because you said something wouldn't work without knowing the first thing about troubleshooting issues. Already had several people tell me that this fix worked for them.
To everyone else. If this doesn't work I implore you to look for other solutions, but don't disregard any one solution because someone says it won't work. There are a variety of different variables that could be contributing to the issues you're having, and while on the surface the issue may look and be the same, the root of the issue could vary drastically.
[EDIT] Oh I see. You posted the fix you're linking and are discrediting other fixes so people go strait to yours. In other words you're seeking attention at the expense of actually fixing issues that people are having, and at the expense of the community itself. Explains a lot.
1. I'm using the newest version of windows 10 and have to keep up with software updates for my job.
2. Literally all I said was people should try a variety of different solutions if one doesn't work for them, which is common practice in the IT world. And pointed out that you make a habbit of saying your solution is the only correct one on a variety of different threads, which is inaccurate information.
3. If you're going to call someone out on being immature you really should make sure you're not typing in all caps, or using profanity infinitely more than the person you're talking to. It's a dead giveaway showing who's losing their temper. Throwing a hissy fit about someone calling you on your antics is a mark of immaturity, and claiming that a technological issue can only have one fix is a mark of inexperience.
I'm off this topic. If people want to try my fix or your fix they can. If mine helps people like it has already that's great. If yours helps people that's great. At the core all I wanted to do was help people, not bicker with you. If you want to bicker some more feel free to get in the last word.
