PC and Mac Steam library on the same hard drive
I have an external hd I use to run my Steam games on. I game on both Windows and Mac, so I just take my drive with me and plug it to game. I installed a (Mac) game onto my external hard drive and it works fine. I then went to my PC and tried to play the same game. It first says executable missing (of course), then downloads a quick update and I can now play the same game on my PC. I assume the best way to fix this would be to have 2 Steam libraries on the external hd? This way I would have all of my Mac games installed in one directory and my PC games in another directory. This way I won't have to download an update every time I want to play the same game when switching between PC and Mac. Also, this makes it where I can game when I don't have internet access since I won't have to do an update every time. Let me know if this seems to be the best way to handle the issue.

One more question: If I do it using this method will it mess up my saves or is everything in the steam cloud already?
