Steam failed to download (no internet connection): no source, Help????
Now I've tried literally everything, Its a steam specific issue, I know this because I can download things from other places, Steam support, have no idea and think its a network/PC issue, but I've uninstalled and re-installed steam, as soon as I cannot download any game in my library, as a result steam is now useless to me. Having a look, people (from what little I can find) have had this issue for months and the fourms have died with no fix. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Edit: The fix of which I found, you have to switch your download region to either Brazil (any) or Vietnam (This has worked for me, however this isn't a bloody fix since steam needs to sort themselves out and allow us to download from our region)

Guys try deactivating IPv6 it solved it for me on my old PC and now on my new one.
exacto aveces falla mucho
happened to me for like past 3 days (at least that was the first time I logged into steam for weeks). tried to do everything that I couldn (changing the download region, offline -> online trick, deleting the download cache, added -tcp at the end of the target, uninstall steam and reinstall it back) and still can't download or play anything. any other tips?
If your ISP use IPV6 then this is a bad idea to turn it off, ask own isp, whats wrong and update netcard Drivers, and talk with own ISP, because if they enable it, then you can get alot of trouble later then segmented network happend to you, and that is your problem or you get bill from isp technician for waste ISP time in faulthy finding on things you did.

make a big FAT Lable on router what you did on the pc or router, still your problem if you forgot this years later.

its simple not a choise in turn it off then they run out of ipv4 adr decads ago. get your ISP to deal with it and check own update router and netcard driver is update.

same as not be able to communicate with ipv6 then you are turn it off and own ISP use it.
and thats a real senario and tested way back then they introduce it.

thats a ISP issue now or should say your problem to deal with it. ( noone here in right mind dare to say yeah go ahead and turn it off, and if they did still your problem.

I'm not so sure where steam stand in this, with million of steam user screw up own network and cause greef to themself., they might want to hunt every comment down on ipv6 and make a final close post entry and lock them. then million of steam users get into trouble someday.

steam has apox 22million user per hour that 250 to 350 million user per day.
im sure you can see warning all over and alot of angry steam user if 25% complain over it , no network. ( and all previous user comment can tecnicaly get a warning for harmfull reply with turn it off.

if you got network trouble contact own ISP

Contact own ISP we cant help you, if you dont graps no network, thats actual a huge thing in Asia ipv6 is much more already there. still require all isp in that region has it working, ( segmentented network that mean pocket with network that dont talk with each other )

if other spare pc working then its your pc that has the error. ( this dont fix itself and write here will not help sense Steam is NOT a ISP = Internet Service Provider. )

thats same as get help other place, and why you test with other spare pc you did not configurated and make same mistake.

take a warning with on security and antivirus app that can interference in top of this.

check you have right time and country and use timeserver sync, not a joke.

gl with it, i doubt steam will comment on it here

make steam ticket and contact own isp, there is no other support on the subject.

ps.
its not steam job to tell users to have pc update and OS with lifecycle thats active.
and your router or modem if some user have such.

and then write here is user forum.

dont forget netsh winsoc reset, still your problem to read steam network trouble shooting guide.
rest is pretty much seen as user own problem.

22million online per hour thats apox 250 to 350 million steam user every day, and thats why steam see it as not a steam problem, get 10% or lesser of that % then they will investigate more if they do have a problem. this post is from 2017. and you have not proof a thing here.

and to my knowledge no one has no connection over 5 years this thread smell like user lack of update the post and confirm what was wrong in the first place.

Personaly, i dont care if your pet has eat at the cable or damage it or you did.
problem is most dont get it, network enginer is a faulthy finder, so yeah they will find the cause and yes even person or its pc.

its our job to get traffic from A to B , here im just a user like you. ( and we can always blaim or point fingers on something. ) thats how we work.

stop added or change things you might not understand "added -tcp" there is no better to use TCP or UDP, both have pro and cons to each depend on app and the way it use data.
you might have have read something that work in some rare case, i can turn that around and say, that place that has such issue, dont understand network at all, then they excluded one protocol over other, or have bad infrastucture network.

last time i see that was africa where TCP over very very long distance and TCP and slow modem is better then UDP. ( so you might actual read on old crappy advice and worst possible case, things have change there, so its still each ISP to know better and help own custommer.

this is fiber today, not sure old ways is relevant at all. ( and user only make more trouble for themself then they do such. )

be happy someone bother or care to reply to you.

just in case someone happen to experience the same issue and still can't download anything/ connect to steam via desktop app even though you already tried all of the tips others shared here, go try to temporarily disable your windows antivirus (the antivirus one, not the windows defender firewall).
hopefully this helps!
Alright. For anyone with my specific issue here's what you do and what happened. I had an old hard drive that I had a Steam library on, and I installed that hard drive in my machine when the issues started. I believe that was the cause of the issue for me. I had duplicate games then, one copy on my new hard drive and one on my old one.

So the fix for me was to delete every last game off of the hard drive I had just plugged back in. (Again, I had this hard drive out of my PC for a good few months.) You can do this in Steam->Settings->Downloads->Steam Library Folders. That seems to have fixed my specific issue which seems to have the same symptoms of saying there's no internet connection when there is one. Then I cleared the download cache just to be safe and everything works now. Just gotta download those games again.

Hope this helps somebody.
i'm running into the problem now too

This post should be locked, ( No network connection from 2017, fat chance that happend ) a total lost post with so many user that think they have same issue over 5 years, alot of mixed up issue with same (no internet connection) is not same as no steam connection, one is a isp issue and other is from isp into steam issue.
