Snakebytes ps3 controller, problems

i tried motioninjoy, and scp toolkit...... i dont know what else to use to try to get my controller to work. i bought it so that i could play fallout 4 on my pc through steam.... i dont know what to do.

Have you tried using Steam's own support? But another idea, return the controller and buy an XInput one. If you buy a controller for the PC, an XInput one is the way to go.

Uninstall all that other stuff, start Steam Big Picture and go to settings.

Click the little controller icon in the top right corner of Steam.

Well, have you enabled the PS configuration and configured it? Then replugged it?

also just in case do you know where i can find a cheap steam controller?

You don't automatically need a Steam controller. The XBox 360/One controller may be more familiar to you and especially the 360 is cheaper. It's d-pad is pretty meh though, not good for fighting games.

Also if you don't fully uninstall it properly the terrible drivers it uses cause all sorts of issues
