Xbox One and Elite Controller Issues

Hello,

Long story short, my Xbox One and Xbox Elite contollers no longer work with any Steam games I boot up. Both controllers are recognized in Big Picture Mode as Xbox One Contoller. I can navigate the menus, modify settings and boot up games, but as soon as I'm in the game both controllers stop functioning. What's odd is that when For Honor first loads, there's a splash page that says "press any button to continue." That page accepts my button input, but once I'm in the main menu I can't do anything. Skyrim and Dark Souls 3 allow me to move the cursor up and down in the main menu, but it won't register any other button presses. I don't have any issues playing games in Uplay or Origin. What is going on?

I fixed the issue. Had to go into Big Picture Mode > Settings >Controller Settings and uncheck all controller support options. Then disconnect and reconnect the contoller. Magic. Steam as the root cause confirmed.
