I was gifted a copy of a game i already own and i want to gift it to someone else.
I won a giveaway on twitch of a game i already own, they sent me the game via email and i cant accept the gift, i was hoping to turn the copy i won into a gift for a friend who wants the game. can i do that?

no the person purchased a 4 pack of the game and is giving whole copies of the game, not keys (my bad for not clarifying that)

If its a game that uses VAC or a Game Ban system then you cant accept it.
Since last year you cant store games that use those in your inventory any longer.
You have to activate them at once when you receive them and since you already own it you cant do it.

Why not just forward the email to the person you want to gift the game to?

because your email is linked to your account.

No, it isn't. You can forward any email to anyone. Every. Single. Mail client out there has a "Forward" button. Simply click it. Or if you even don't want to use that, copy the gift link and paste it into a new email to someone.

Out of curiosity, where do you have that "linked to your account" nonsense from?

I just assumed, since when i clicked the link it auto sent it to my steam, which now i think of it is probably due to auto log in on chrome :P

Pro tip: Don't assume things. Rather, use logic. In this case, that would be that the gift link is just a link. It really is just a link that you can click. That in turn means that anyone can click that link.
