Incorrect Username And Password Even Though They're Correct?
I was using steam on a browser, looking through greenlight, when I came upon a pretty interesting game. To vote it up, obviously I needed to be logged into my account. When I attempted to log in, I acquire the message 'incorrect username and/or password'.

Odd.

I attempted to type it in. slower this time. Counting my letters, making sure nothing was capitalized, making sure I did not misclick or delete a key. . . The same message pops up again. I'm getting worried; this has not been the first time I have had this issue pop up. The last time it happened I lost my previous account and never got it back because of this problem. I'm a person who always double, triple checks before making an account, making sure everything has been properly typed, and I write down on notes the username and passwords for future notices, so there was no way I've missclicked anything.

I've logged out and signed in plenty of times in this account, and now this problem has decided to strike back. I've tried logging on different browsers in my computer, in my phone, and nothing seems to be working.

Can anyone please help me? I'm afraid of losing my account and all of the money and time I've spent on it.

Type your password into notepad and make sure it looks right. after confirming it try copy the one from notepad into browser and see if it works. maybe your keyboard is weird.

your account could be compromised, first off, after losing your first account, are you still using the same computer? if so you most likely have malware, before cleaning it out there's not much you can do. every account you make/use will be stolen. after securing and removing all the malware (may need to do a full reformat after even depending how badly you're affected) you should immediately change email password, then send to help.steampowered.com and follow the steps to recover your account (always keep the spare cd keys/etc)

it is obvious your password has been changed then, your account is once again compromised. Clean malware off your PC, fresh boot, use MBAM always on protection, one of the top anti virus (kaspersky/bitdefender) again, paid always on and never visit sites that aren't things you visit normally/aren't verified good sites.

(also if you don't use steam guard + mobile authenticator, that's your issue as well)

Maybe it won't be much trouble, just a simple password reset via email.

Doesn't hurt to scan your PC just in case.

Maybe do a quick check here: https://haveibeenpwned.com/

There should be no reason to check there. You should use a different password on every single website, with different writing styles, some utilizing special characters, some not, almost never the same pattern in any two passwords. ESPECIALLY if you write them down, all the more reason to.

I mean your right about your point, still if a site got hacked it's nice to log in and change that unique password before someone else does..
And we should not assume that everyone has does things the best way about their passwords.

Hmm. . . This is rather peculiar. I never go to shady sites, and I have always had SmartsScreen Filters and Safe Mode on, though I cannot afford a good anti-virus for my laptop, however I stay out of sites that are out of the ordinary. I will try all of yours' suggestions to the bests of my abilities.
