That's a touchy subject these days. It really depends on how you express yourself, though that could be misinterpreted.
Due to policies of criticism is not allowed upon moderators, I can't properly justify my right here.
preferably I'd like to hear what the moderators have to say if they come across this, but yeah it is a touchy subject.
You have the right to speak of it and Steam has the right to ban you for it. Freedom of speech is not a blank check to say anything you want without consequences.
Steam is a private company , they can enforce any rules on conduct on their platform they want.
You have no "right" to write/say anything on a privately owned platform.
So i would just keep political topics out of Steam. This is really not the place for these things.
Or rather.. you have the right/ability to say whatever you want even in my house or on a Steam Forum... and i.. as a home owner (and Steam/Valve as an owner of these forums) has the right to tell you to GTFO and be quiet.
You don't have the right to be free of censorship when you are using someone elses privately owned space.
This is a community after all and it doesn't come with labels or categories.
Gaming community yes, but doesn't say it is a non-political community as well.
Never did I share it on the threads or anywhere else, only my own profile.
Your profile on Steam is not your private space its still the property of Steam and is subject to all the rules and regulations associated with Steam. If you create your own website and pay the money to have that website hosted on the internet, THEN you have a private space where you can say whatever you want.
The SSA and 'Rules and Guidelines' beg to differ. Also, before say the 'Rules and Guidelines' are only for the discussions, you might want to actually READ the whole page.
First paragraph:
So you are not officially allowed to speak of politics because it may end up in you getting community banned.
Alright, cheers!
Is that how you want it?
In contrast to the public street, steam is rather like your house. So there are 2 reasons why this isnt the public ploitic forum you want it to be
If you want my opinion on protesting, I think it is fine unless it is *Censored out of fear of ban*
