Removing a steam key from an account (Issue resolved)
Hi, is there any way to remove a steam key of a game that isn't on steam from my library?

I got an indie steam game, and there aren't any options for it in the steam support section, literally nothing, so I can't remove it from my library like you would be able to with any other steam game.

Any support?

[Issue resolved (sort of anyway)]

Once added, it's there forever.

So there is no way to just get rid of the key from my account? That stinks.

Even if you "remove" a game with the support page its only "hidden" and the key is still linked to your account forever.

Damn.

Wanted to get rid of it since I got the key from another person on the Landfall games discord who had a spare copy (retarded move on my part).

Mainly because landfall's email verification isn't working due to captcha, and literally a few minutes after I redeemed it, I get an email from steam telling me a user was trying to access my account using that key.

You go to Steam Support and make a request. However, if removed, it's permanent. So if it was a Steam Game, you would actually have to re-purchase it, if you ever wanted it back later down the track. Else you just hide it.

Not bothered if it's permanent, it's a free game anyway. Thanks by the way

Visit the Steam support site, then log in with your account information.
https://help.steampowered.com/

Click Games, Software, etc., then select the game you want to delete (you may need to search for it). Next, select I want to permanently remove this game from my account.

(seems like you can do it yourself these days)

Would have done that if I could, but the game doesn't show up in steam support, and if I select the game then click steam support, literally nothing comes up.

This step will not remove the game permanent from your account. You can still take it back to your library after you removed it.

That's just the advanced hide option. It's always tied to your account on the back and and can be recovered from the same page at any time.

The key will always be attached to your account, Using free keys means you will receive this email a ton.

I've personally never used it myself, just saw that and thought it might help.

The only real way I know is via Steam Support request and then confirming you accept it's full removal.

Sorry to ask, But how do I send them a ticket for something like this? Been going through the steam support page and can't find anything on how to contact them over permanently removing a steam key.

Even that old route was still advanced hiding. When Valve first introduced the self removal tool, people found they could recover games that were removed via support years earlier.
