Post a link.

There's no direct way to put a picture up here unless you use the screenshot/artwork sections and link those.

thanks. But that didn't helped me. if u can explain better I appreciate. or teach me if you can.
If the picture is not game related, you would upload it to a web host like Imgur or TinyPic, and then post the link the site generates for you.

If the picture is a screenshot or an artwork, you will need to be on PC as far as I know (I don't have a smartphone, and so do not know the full functionality of the app.)

For a screenshot
  • Open the Steam client
  • Click View followed by Screenshots
  • In the new window, use the drop-down menu to select a game
  • Select the picture you want to upload, in the bottom-right corner click Upload
  • Now go to your screenshots
    • If you are using the Steam client, make sure you have set it to show URLs
  • Open the screenshot you want to share
  • Above the screenshot will be a link to the screenshot, copy and paste that into a discussion post

And voila:

The process is similar for artwork.

  • Make sure you own the rights to the artwork you are uploading.
  • Go to your artwork and click Upload Artwork
    • If you are using the Steam client, make sure you have set it to show URLs
  • Open the artwork you want to share
  • Above the artwork will be a link to the artwork, copy and paste that into a discussion post

And voila:

The basic idea is that we ain't a image hosting service, neither we should encourage users to add pics to every lol-post they make.

If you absolutely need a add a picture, use a safe and popular image hosting service like Imgur for example and post the link. For screenshots and artwork you can use the steam gallery options.

I see something that I can post a picture in http.code basically
You cannot embed pictures from outside Steam, only link them.

can I post from the computer then? it's not a screenshot, I'm playing in xbox one so is a picture
You cannot embed external images. It does not work. Furthermore, HTML tags do not work on Steam, you must use it's own markup.

In the forums you can't.
You have to post a link.

Upload it as artwork to your profile (if you have permission or it is your own creation) and post the link to the artwork in your post.
