remove a steam key
Was wondering if its possible to remove a steam key that i have given to someone. They requested a key to do a article about game but never did. (this has happened alot to me) A lot of scammers out there so if theres a place we can share details for a black list thatd be great.

Are you the developer of the game in question? Developers are able to revoke Steam keys, though I am not sure what exactly is involved. If you are not the developer, there is no way to revoke a Steam key you have given to someone else.

There is nowhere on Steam for a scammer black list. You would need to go to another web site (e.g. SteamRep) for that.

Once you give a key away, it is no longer yours. Rather it is their's then. Take it as a lesson learned and stop giving away free keys to people unless they are close and trusted friends.

Yes im the developer. Gave keys to people who approached my website saying they were from a site wanting to do a article about my game. Its my fault for trusting people but i was just keen to get some promotion. Lesson learnt i guess. Hope my story helps protect other devs

Like the other guy said, If you're the developer you should be able to revoke the keys. Although I have no clue what the process to do such would entail.

Ok guys here its done. in Steamworks go to 'tools' then 'ban steam keys' you then submit a text file with list of keys and it will remove them for you !

Awesome. Glad you figured it out. You may want to consider writing to the companies/sites that where supposed to write such articles and let the higher up's know their writers didn't follow through on their word as well.

In the future, I would recommend if you're gonna give out Steam keys, maybe give them to some friends...and not just people who want to be your friend for free Steam games. If you're going to give them out to a professional reviewer, maybe check if they've actually done any professional reviews.
