Bioshock 1/2
Fallout 3
Just Cause 2
Half life 1/2
Assassins Creed 2
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Doom 3
Stick to either older or less demanding titles. Most of those in your list probably will struggle, though Doom 3, Bioshock and Half life are all older so you might have a chance with those.
Heres a list of some other games off the top of my head that might run on your sytem:
Bioshock (not 100% sure but low settings might work)
HL 1
Doom 3 (might have to lower settings a bit)
FEAR (first one)
Minecraft
TF2
Gmod (low settings)
Bully (not 100% sure, doesn't take much to run though)
Older GTA titles such as Vice City or SA
Older COD titles might work.
I actually played some of the above on an old 8400m GS, which is weaker than the mobile HD 3650. Wasn't great, but it worked.
Definitely consider upping the ram. 1gb won't get you anywhere, 3 or 4gb at the very least, even for some older games.
However, I have used an 8400m gs before in the past for some of those games, its a weaker card than yours.
HL1 - should definitely run, its a very old game now.
HL2 - Might run on lower settings. Can't say for sure as never played it.
Doom 3 - Not a demanding title, it should be ok on low-mid settings.
Bioshock - Don't expect great fps, but might be ok on the lowest settings.
Older GTA titles - SA ran fine, havent tried vice city or 3, but they should run similar.
FEAR - Ran well on low-mid settings.
Minecraft - Ran great, whether your friend is still into it is another thing.
TF2 - Should run on low. Its free so theres nothing to lose.
As mentioned above, your HD 3650 is a step up from the 8400m that I used, so gaming performance will be somewhat better in the above.
On a side note: assuming you are gifting games to your friend, steam refunds do work on gifts (according to valve) in the event that you do get a game that doesn't play well with your laptop.
That 1gb ram will be a huge limitation though, the os alone will use most of that and its very likely that some of the above games may take a hit. You'll see a big benefit from upping to even 2gb, though 3 or 4gb would be much better.
