Steam downloads are Slow as hell
Been having this problem for as long as i can remember and it makes me very mad. All my downloads are capped at 2.4 Megabytes a second except my dowload speed is at 25 megabytes a second.
I have been searching the internet for 2 hours. I have found absolutly nothing.
I have changed:
*My download region
*My download restrictions
*Restarted moddem
Please help and dont just tell me to changed region, i literally tried each one and its all the same

So, your download speed here is?:
http://speedtest.net

you don't understand difference between MBps and Mbps, educate yourself. your download speed is right where it should be.

and i know the difference but more people understand MBps. Also this doesnt explain why it suddenly goes from 2.4 Mbps to 0kb/s and sits at 0kb/s for 4 hours till it jumps to 300kb/s for 6 seconds then shuts off again

because it's installing, you have a HD and not an SSD most likely.

So its installing a game its already downloading and takes literally more then an hour to get the speed back to even 300kb/s

And I asked the Speedtest result. You said "26 megabytes" in the starting post which wouldn't be your Speedtest result as that displays them in megabits

You'd be expected to get 3,25 megabytes per second on a 26 megabit connection tops.

As for the occasional stalling, that's one thing you didn't actually mention until now.

depending on the game, yes. path of exile is one that will take a very long time to allocate/install for example, multiple hours if you have a HD, just how some games are.

Except this happens with EVERY game i have. even the 500 megabyte game Eldritch. (not bad actually)

But why does it randomly stop? For hours at a time?!?!?!

your ISP is throttling your connection to steam. speak with them. or change your firewall settings/anti virus/etc.
