how do i run steam in 64bit?
my pc is 64bit but downloads steam in 32bit can anyone help me?

steam is a 32 bit application. only reason to ever be 64 bit is if it uses 4gb+ of ram, but steam will never even require so much as a fraction of that, if it did, nobody would use it.

No.

Only the client is 32-bit. Steam doesn't have to be 64-bit to download 64-bit games; and your computer will do the legwork with the games themselves.

You will get the games in the format they are made, 32bit or 64bit, you do not need a 64bit steamclient for that.
