Low FPS on most games with a GTX 1060?
So, here's the dealio - I started playing Planetside 2 on my old PC, which had wank specs (GTX 750ti with a CPU which I forgot the name of, and 8GB RAM), and I still hit 60fps on a medium-high quality. I built a new PC, consiting of a GTX 1060 6GB, an i5 6500, an MSI H110M Gaming Motherboard, with 2 4GB sticks of HyperX RAM (8GB Total). Now, with these new specs, I barely hit 20, on Low, and the animations are choppy. It's not just Planetside, either... Other games that I had no problem running before, like Warframe, Gmod and even CS:GO, all started to run terribly! The monitor is plugged into the GPU, and all of the drivers are up to date. I have the same hard drive that I had from my old PC, which I thought could be the problem, as it is pretty old... I don't know anymore. Any help?

Its possible that the games dont use your GTX 1060 but your Intel HD graphic chip on your CPU.
Try looking into the Nvidea Control Settings or the Power Saving Settings of your pc and set it to maximum performance.

Already done, and they all run using the GTX 1060. Thanks for the heads up, though.

EDIT: I realized my settings for power saving on Windows was set to Balanced, and not High Peformance. I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot.

It doesn't look like the High Peformace that I activated in the power settings did anything ;-;

Yeah something seems amiss. Your graphic card gets enough power and everything?
Did you try to run some graphic benchmarks? All drivers up to date? ( skip that , just saw that you wrote that already) You should get far better performance with that 1060 then your old card.
Did you look in your motherboard BIOS if the PCI-E slot with your graphic card is set as the main graphic adapter?

I did a Heaven Benchmark on maxed out settings, and it ran without dropping under 60 FPS, at all.

That.. is really strange then. But in actual games the performance is terrible?

It's unplayable, at times. It's impossible to play Planetside 2, because of the choppy anims and the ♥♥♥♥ frames, BF1 is unplayable, even though I could play it before. I just tried to see if I would hit over 60 on Overwatch with the high performance enabled, it didn't help. ;-;

Maybe open a thread in the Steam Hardware subforum. The users there are technical much more knowledgeable. Maybe someone has a idea over there.

Open the games location in Windows Explorer, install everything in the redist folder, reboot and try again.
