Sacred 2 Gold

Win 10 compatibility mode?
Hello, I am trying to run Sacred 2 gold with compat mode. I know to right click propertys, browse local files, look for exe file but can't seem to find exe file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

OK, I found exe, clicking on it takes me to note pad, but I can find nothing to change compatibility mode.

Make a screenshot of what you see.

Try in the game specific forum found http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/#games

Also this is a very common issue. A simple internet search or forum search would guide you through the process and finding the .exe

Library > Right > Click Game > Properties > Local Files > Browse local files

Thanks for the reply. I did that, many times, tried run auto search, typed it in manually, looked at every single file that came up. My problem is, I cannot find a exe file that I can change, its just not there. The only exe file is a text file, that comes up in note pad. I have changed compatibility on my PC for games I loaded from disc, doing exactly as quoted above. I cannot change digital games from steam. I tried from library and desk top.

Here some of the locations a games .exe is commonly found in

steamapps > common > 'GameNameFolder' >
steamapps > common > 'GameNameFolder' > Binaries
steamapps > common > 'GameNameFolder' > Binaries > Win32
steamapps > common > 'GameNameFolder' > Binaries > Win64
steamapps > common > 'GameNameFolder' > Data
steamapps > common > 'GameNameFolder' > x64
steamapps > common > 'GameNameFolder' > x86

The file itself might not be named Sacred2.exe it could be Run.exe, Launcher.exe, **Launcher.exe etc

If possible you could open task/resource manager then try to run the game. A new program will appear, this will be the games process. If it closes quickly, crashed?least you know what it is called. If however it stays there long enough you can
Right-click it > Open File Location >
It will open a window and the .exe will be highlighted making it easy to identity > Right click it an Try enabling compatibility now.

Edit: I check the locations above using both games I've installed from disc and downloaded from Steam and had no problem finding .exes for any off them. Maybe asking in the Sacred 2 forum would help. I don't have the game so can't check but it's likely someone that has the game will know.

Thanks again. I tried the Sacred forum first, right after I googled for the solution. I had this Question up for 5 days with zero response. So I deleted it, then came here. I will look for those files as mentioned above.

I'm on Windows 10 x64 and I've never had a problem getting the game running. Just go into the local files for the game, then open the redist folder and install the included legacy physx driver, then download the community patch 0150 and boom. Game runs. No compatibility mode, no special file hunting.

2 steps and it runs fine.

Thanks for the reply. I have the patch, clicking on redist shows physx file, looks installed [no option shows to do anything with it.] My problem is the game keeps freezing, random just walking, plus when I enter or leave caves or use portals. Takes the fun out of the game.

See my thread on help getting it to run with a couple of simple steps. If you have any difficulty with my method then try a brand new install of sacred 2, I have got sacred 2 to work on every windows version since the game was released

I still have to start the game twice to get it running. Starting the game in the first go always fails, and I have to click it again to make it start. This is with the CM 0150 patch. Nothing anyone has said on the internet fixes this issue. I've already looked, and am not looking for any more solutions because there is none. I'm just making a statement. If you're like me and nothing else works, try launching the game twice.

It's not rocket science. Go to the game install location, right click on the .exe and go to properties. CHange compatability mode to Windows 7. Done.
Yes, that would be what I need to do, only like I said the dam file is not there, only exe file that shows is a note book read me file. As I also stated I know how to and have changed other games compatibility.

if thats some kind of joke, it is not funny at all

rightclick the game in your steam-library, pick "properties", click on the "local files" tab, pick "browse local files" from there. This will open a windows explorer window with the following path

WHEREVER-YOU-HAVE-STEAM-INSTALLED\steamapps\common\Sacred 2 Gold

in this window, you doubleclick the "system" folder and locate the "sacred2.exe".

tl/dr : you need to open the "system" folder after clicking "browse local files"
