Battlefield 1942 Black loading/ pause menu screen

So I've installed BF 1942 on my Windows 10 X64 laptop. The games runs fine when it actually manages to load, however, most the time, when I hit the battle button with any map selected, it goes into a sort of windowed mode with a black tile covering a portion of the top left part of my screen. This happens regularly when trying to load a map and everytime I go to the in-game pause menu. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Anyways, I think it has to do with your graphic drivers or something. Try installing the required redist or whatever its called. And if that doesn't work , try reinstalling the game.
