Achievement showcase?

I cannot find anything in my profile for an "Achievement Showcase." I even read that I could enable it by editing my profile ("Go to your profile and click the Edit Profile button. Scroll down to the Feature Showcase section and select Rarest Achievement Showcase option. Click save and you are done."), but I don't have an option for that.

Am I missing something?

The only options I have for "Edit Profile" are:

• Profile Name
  
• Real Name
  
• Country
  
• State/Province
  
• City
  
• Custom URL
  
• Avatar
  
• Facebook
  
• Summary
  
• Featured Badge
  
• Primary Group

That's it. No "showcase" option.

Oh. Hmph. Well, I just got myself to level 9. I don't think I can get to 10 without buying these trading cards. (Which I'm not at all interested in.)

And here I thought your level was, like on the Playstation Network, related to what you've done in games (i.e., achievements).

You can finish your community badge, or turn an item into gems to get the badge for that. That should get you up to 10 or 11.

How do I increase XP on my profile to level up?

There are a number of ways to increase your profile level on Steam. These include:

Purchasing games
Earning badges
Crafting badges
Upgrading badges

This is either wrong or outdated, my brother has 5 achievements on display at level 36, by this logic he should only be able to display 3. Does anyone have an actual source I could look up for a certain answer?

He must've bought some showcases in the point shop. Those showcases don't count against the limit.

For example my level grants me 11 showcases, but I bought 5 from the shop for a total of 16.

How do I add a showcase to my profile?
Once you reach Steam Level 10 you can pick and customize a showcase from the profile edit page. Each 10 Steam Levels earns you an extra showcase, i.e. two showcases at Level 20, three showcases at Level 30, etc.
