Deactivate Steam account?

I want to deactivate my Steam Account and want to know if thats possible.
Is that possible? I dont want to delete it though.

and they will ask you at least 2 times to make sure you want your account terminated.

deactivate and delete are the same thing. You can stop logging into your steam account if you wish. It will be there waiting for you to return at a later time.

But once I deleted it I can never use it again right?

Just log off and don't use it... What you're asking for doesn't really make any sense.

The account is free, there's no subscription to deactivate. You can either delete the account and lose everything or you can simply not use the account and keep everything.

or
Terminate the account

You cannot "disable" the account which is a better word than you are using.
