I bought a key for rocket league from a third party website, but when I tried to redeem it it gave me this error. It happened to me before with Rust too and I was able to get a refund on both occasions. At this point I don't want refunds I just want to play the game . I understand that Rust and Rocket league are not region locked so I think it doesn't matter where I buy them from. Maybe this has something to do with me travelling to another country and my steam wallet settings are set to my home country?

The key you bought is region locked. Buy the game on Steam or from a legit reseller.

The key description says its global on both games though.

Two possibilities
1. They lied. Simple as that.
2. You're in a non-global region, I.e. you cant activate the original Wolfenstein in Germany. Although I have to add that the censored version is pretty darn amazing and the game doesn't suffer. Still, the key description should have said "Won't activate in the following regions: Germany"

One way or another, the site you bought it from screwed you.

ReBoot is correct. Talk to the person who sold you the key, try to work something out with them. Confirm the listing does not give any region restrictions (e.g. will not redeem/activate in Germany.) If there is no warning, and support refuses to assist you, open a chargeback with your bank or payment provider.

I bought from an authorized reseller. The site specifically stated that the product activates in my country. I also bought another product at the same site which activated without issue? What's going on?

Sure. Emigrate to another country, get permanent residence there and open a bank account in the new country you live in. Then you should be able to change your region.
