Separate account for steamworks?
A few questions about this since I couldn't find this on the FAQ. I have decided to create a separate account for use with steamworks because I don't want my business tied with personal accounts. I want to avoid being doxxed, so I'm taking necessary precautions to avoid my gamedev endeavours from being thwarted by some twit who got offended by something I said.

1. Is this okay to do? I want to keep the personal account to make it easier for friends to find me by this nickname I've had for 15 years. If not, then I guess I'll have to change it.

2. I tried to create a new account with the name of my company, but steam tells me it was already taken (even though there are no usernames using it). It appears that if you change your name to a particular name, then nobody else but that account holder can ever use that name again. Is this the case? If so, is there any way around this?

I have a title or two that I want to submit but making the effort to keep business and personal accounts separate from each other is a necessary action for me at this point.

Thanks,

Shogun.

you can have as many accounts as you want and for what ever reason you have. i have 5 now.

account log in names are first come first served and can only be used 1 time. if it is taken you are sol. there have been many requests for this to be changed but it will never be.

Okay, good to know, but technically it's not taken since I changed the name back to my old name. I guess Steam stores it and locks it out. If worse comes to worse, I guess I could just add TM for trademark to the end of it.

account names and user names are 2 different things.

the one you log in with is never going to change.
