How do you record videos on steam?

Ive been struggling to find a way to record gmod and i cant find somewhere that tells me how can someone help me?

If you don't have an Nvidia card, use either Bandicam or Action! Fraps' free version sucks, Bandicam has the upper hand here. If you're down with paying, Action! is the way to go as it actually supports hardware encoding and saves in H.264, unlike Fraps.

Unfortunately, even with a good Nvidia card I couldn't find that feature anywhere. It might be hidden under a hotkey or something.

By the way, does OBS not take up as much space as Bandicam? I might try it later.
