Xbox 360 Controller Remaps Itself
My wired Scuf Gaming Xbox 360 controller randomly remaps the functions of both the "A" face button and "A" paddle to others buttons (usually R3 and left stick directionals). I have made sure all drivers are up to date and tried switching usb ports. This problem only started occuring recently after a few months of not using the controller. I have also tested a similar controller, and have yet to see the problem happen.

Not all of those buttons can be used at the same time on PC from my understanding; much like how the extra buttons on Xbox Elite Controllers are useless to PC.

You can try deleting the controller in Steam > BigPictureMode
Then re-detect it and manually map it.

=== EDIT ===
Actually now that went back and read up on SCUF; the bottom paddles are mapped to existing buttons, that is the whole point, it's an easier means of use because you don't have to fight with claw-grip to press A (like taking thumb off of right stick to press A) the bottom paddles allow for that.

So Paddle for A and the actual A button; they are the same, u can't remap them to separate buttons.

Thanks for the feedback. The problem, however, is not myself wanting to map the button or paddle, it is that whatever functions are assigned to those "A" buttons get randomly binded to another button in the middle of gameplay. This happens to whichever game I play.
Then please try what I suggested with regards to BigPictureMode

Since Steam now supports other Controllers from there; like DS4, 360, XBO, etc.

I figured it OUT!!!!!

Go to "\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition"

in there should be a file along the lines of "custom.controllerconfig" or something similar. Delete that. Bam! Controller works again.
