Games on multiple drives?

Ok, so this summer i'm building a new computer, my initial plan was to buy a 480 GB SSD with a fast load speed to keep my OS, a few games and most applications, then get a 3 TB HDD to keep most of my main files on and the majority of my games. But then it struck me, all the games is kept inside of the steam directory, so i can't have games on both drives. I looked into a program called SteamMover, but i don't know if it affects load speeds. Does anyone know a solution to this?

My upcoming setup if anyone was curious (which i doubt, but just for bragging rights):
8 GB GeForce GTX 1080
Intel Core i7-7700k
16 GB of DDR4 RAM
480 GB SSD
3 TB HDD

Just install the Games where you want them, whats the issue?

Origin / Uplay / Steam / Bethesda NET / Battle NET

What are you talking about? The option is there, just look in settings > downloads > Steam library folders, and set up a library location on the other drive. After that, you can choose where a game will install and even be able to move games from one location to the other(found in a game's properties in Steam).

You can have multiple Steam libraries, wherever you want them.

No need for programs like "Steam Mover" as you can do this yourself with ease.

reinstall steam on another drive, I would recommend another ssd just for games, another 500gb ish size if you can afford it, I have 2 240gb ssd's, one for os and small programs and one just for games

OK I see what you're saying, and yup I use steam mover and it works great, I have a 250gb SSD for OS and with the app I can swap games from my D, E, or F drive if I wanted to and yes I do. In steam when installing a game you can change your install file path and direct it to different drives but as a heads up before you do that you will want to make a folder on your C drive I named mine SteamSwap, then the other drives for steam install's .

As for load speeds if it's still on the HDD it will load with normal HDD speeds, if swapped to the SSD then it will load with the speed of the SSD, it physically sends the game you want or games to the SSD and you can easily swap games back to their normal install folders to free up room on your SSD, it does leave a small cache folder on the SSD but nothing that going to eat up loads of space..

You can install steam games on as many drives as you want. Dont trust 3rd party programs. You don't need them anyway. Everything is build into steam already.

Never had a problem using Steam or doing it manually, so I'm not sure how it could be any better than working.
