How to download steam screenshots from the cloud?
So i've seen quite a lot of people asking this online, but no answers. Basically I had uploaded a bunch of screenshots from my old computer to my steam account, but now i want to download them and start fresh with my screenshots.

If you're going to say something about finding the screenshots in a folder - thats not possible in my case because they were originally uploaded on a different computer as i said before.

Would be great to get some help on this

If you take an in-game screenshot with f12 it will prompt you to upload after you exit the game. But as i said before, i took these screenshots long ago and they are not on this computer. (when you take a screenshot it automatically downloads)

Use this program called ''steamgrabber'' (search it up on google). It works and you can download tons of your old screenshots directly to your disk.

I've heard Sourceforge (the download site) is not good and untrustable.

I had it installed few months ago and it was working + ESET NOD said nothing about it working as virus etc. Anyway, you can try to open each individual screenshot and screenshot it again using some kind of a screenshot software. I think Windows have it pre-installed.

I literally just downloaded them by myself one by one before seeing this comment. Well to anyone whos wondering how I did it:

Open Steam in your browser>Profile>Screenshots>Open screenshot>Right click>"Open link in new tab">"Save image as"

It works good, but I dont recommend it unless you have under 50 screenshots to download since its a little pain in the ass.

View > Screenshots.
Choose a game you've taken screenshots from in the "Show:" dropdown menu then click the "Show On Disk" button.

They're already saved to your computer.

No they are not.

It seems that this thread is pretty dated and a lot of the answer in here are wrong. For a while now, Steam has had the option (enabled by default? Not sure) to automatically upload your screenshots taken in-game with F12 to the Steam Cloud.

If you do something like reformat your computer (or get a new computer), reinstall Steam, reinstall your games, and then try to look for your old screenshots, obviously your old screenshots will not be on disk on your current computer.

If you load the Steam Screenshot Manager, you can see your old screenshots in the cloud (it may take several minutes for them all to load correctly; they have a cloud icon on the thumbnail). The problem is that there does not seem to be a way to save all of the old screenshots from the cloud back onto your computer's disk. If you continue to take new screenshots, obviously the new ones will be on disk. But the old ones stored in cloud are not.

Does anyone know how to download all the old cloud screenshots and get them back on disk on your current computer? I am really hoping you do not still have to manually select every single one for manual download. I was hoping there would be some option to "download all" or really just to sync them all back to disk. This is the same way your Steam Save Files work, after all; when you install an old game, it seems that Steam pulls down copies of your old save files, onto disk. So, its confusing that the screenshots do not appear to be treated similarly?

Hey, did you find a solution to download your cloud screenshots?

Since the release of Steam's Recording feature it has changed slightly. Our screenshots are still located on our hard drive. View > Recordings and Screenshots then right click on the image you want to go to the location of and click "Show on disk".

If you want to download your screenshots that have been uploaded for whatever reason go to your galleries in a web browser instead of the Steam Client. Click on the image you want to save to open it, then right click on it and "Save image as..."

Great advice buddy! I have 4000 screenshots, to save them all I need to click on each of them several times, then right-click, select save as and click save and repeat this 4000 times, it's f... very "convenient"! Isn't there an easier way to download all your screenshots at once in one archive from the Steam cloud, as is done in other cloud services???

Not that I know of. What I suggested is the only way. There might be a hack for it on github or something. Try googling (if you haven't already)?
