Problem with steam colors

[Question] Some of the items in my Steam inventory appear really dark. I've searched the subreddit and googled it but haven't found a solution. I'm not the only one with this issue.

So I've had this issue for some time now. At first I didn't pay too much attention to it but recently it has started to bother me.

Some items, especially the ones with dark colors in my Steam inventory appear a LOT darker than they're supposed to. This also happens with my profile's background. It occurs in the Steam program as well as when I open my Steam profile in Google Chrome. However, when I open it in Mozilla Firefox, the items and my profile's background look completely normal.

I have no clue how to fix it. Some of my friends with the same hard- and software have the issue and some don't. I've deleted and updated my Nvidia drivers. Could it have something to do with flash? I'm all out of ideas.

Here's my pc's specs if it's of any help:

i5-4690k MSI GTX970 Asus Maximus VII Ranger

I'm running Windows 10.
