DLC from family sharing
i have installed a DLC of my friend's game once, but he had another DLC that he wanted to share. is there any way to share the DLC again?

pray tell, does family share not keep up to date? you can only use the DLC if you're using the family share copy of the game.

That's not how Family Share works. Either the whole library, including DLC, is shared or not.
Games you own will not be shared. This includes DLC you may not own for that game.

So, let's say you own Game A
Your friend owns Game A + DLC B

You won't get DLC B, because you already have Game A and hence Family Share won't share Game A with you.

i mean the DLC. i got the sims 3 and 3 DLCs for example, and my friend got the sims 3 and 3 other DLC. i've install 1 of his DLC because i wasn't interested in the other 2. but now i'm interested in those 2 and want to install it.

As i said, you already own the game Sims 3, that's why your friend can't share the game AND its DLCs with you.

yo can share dlc if you go on his acount on your pc and install his version of the game first and then go back on yours it worked for me i own base fallout 4 but a friend of mine owned all the dlc but i didnt yet somehow i got his dlc trough family share i know im a bit late but this thing just poped up on my steam for some weird reason now im not sure if it still dos it but it did it for me a year ago

if your family member/friend bought the DLC before u installed the game, by sharing their library, u already have the DLC. if not, reinstall it through family sharing after they get the DLC.

I found no way following any of these techniques for successfully sharing the DLC for the new King's Quest, specifically chapters 2 - 5. According to what I read here, this is because Chapter 1 was made available for free to everyone. Not a big, big deal since they were having a 50% off sale on the Season Pass (through Jan 5th).
