SOLVED: SteamOS recovery fatal arror loop (login Help)

I cant login the to desktop, failed to authenticate, Im not sure what my username is.
changed the password like it said here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/wiki/Troubleshooting#autorepair-boot-loop

but i cant login once i reboot to desktop, what do? is there a way to find desktop username?
EDIT:
ok logged in as desktop, opened the terminal and now its asking for the sudo password.
How do i reset it?
EDIT 2:
you need to make a new password by typing "passwd" in the terminal set a new password for sudo

nevermind aparently the username is set by default.

What Games do you have for your STEAM OS?


Is STEAM OS worth buying? I was thinking of getting the Red & Orange one, forgot what it's called... Not the Alienware one, the other one...

I bought the alienware. Its great when it want to work. IF you buy the alienware get the alpha its windows based which means it will run MOST games. SteamOS has very few games in the market.

Also the alienware Steam Machine may give you the blinking lights of death. IF this happens dont freak out.
3 blinks (steamOS failed to shut downdown properly) unplug everything and press and hold the alienhead power button for 3 min. plug it back in and should boot fine
5 blinks (RAM card error) UNPLUG EVERYTHING!!!!! Pop the case open (use static guard wristband) Carefully remove the ram cards and reseat them back into thier slots. ( i swapped them around card 1 to slot 2 and card 2 to slot 1.)
