Can't delete game folder?
Alright, so I'm having trouble with a game (darkest dungeon, if it matters), where it keeps crashing after I choose my savefile. I'm thinking that what could help is uninstalling it completely and then reinstalling, since i've played around with mods in previous versions of the game that may be messing with it or something, but I've come across the problem where it literally refuses to be deleted. I've tried uninstalling it through steam, but it still keeps the game folder and what seems like most of the games contents in there so I thought I could just delete it manually but whenever I try to, it first of all it asks for admin permission, to which I press continue, followed by the error 'You require permission from DESKTOP-5BA5LIA\*user* to make changes to this folder'. I also cannot access some files within the game folder.

I've had some problems like this with steam games before and have tried googling solutions and messing around with security, but nothing seems to have helped and this is the worst i've had of this problem, as I can't play the game and it refuses to let me try fix it.

-Windows 10
-I use the only account on this computer
-Yes, I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, restarting my computer, running steam as admin and turning off firewall
-As far as I have noticed, this has only happened with steam games, but I believe it may be related to modding. I haven't noticed it outside of when i've been attempting to fix modded games, but that may just be because I haven't needed to fix other games.
-I have played this game alot before in the past and have had it working with mods, and am not trying any new mods or mods that wouldn't work with the current patch. Heck, I had it working earlier today before it just refused to do anything.
-I'm not overly concerned about the game itself, I would mostly just like the ability to delete game files at my leisure without my computer telling me i dont have the right permissions.

Thanks in advance

Are you on an administrative account? If yes, grant yourself permissions and delete the folder. If not, ask the administrator to do that.

I'm using the only account on this computer as I mentioned, so it should be the administrative account. I'm not sure exactly how I would grant myself permissions but when it asks for admin privileges when I attempt to delete it I press continue and it brings up the error I quoted. Is there some other way I need to give myself permission before attempting to delete it?

Open the properties, the security tab, then grant yourself full privileges.

I've tried to, but what I've tried hasn't worked and other things which I've seen don't match the menus that pop up.

Could you explain how to in more detail? I have no idea what I'm doing here and just saying to give myself permissions on a menu doesn't help too much, and I don't wanna mess around with permissions for anything I dont understand

I can't as I don't remember the precise procedure, but I know where to get there.
When you open the security tab, you can edit permissions. Grant your user account the full permissions. And you won't damange the folder anyway.

If it isn't obvious, this rarely works with the steam folder. Give yourself permission to the folder that the steam folder is inside of. Step closer
