Need someone to approve my PC specs
Hey, I am going to buy a new PC with a budget of around $1600 CAD. I'm not sure if I should buy an optical drive. I don't use DVDs but if I don't have an optical drive installed, is there going to be an empty spot in front of my PC? I need someone that is experienced with computers to help me apporve my PC specs. If you have any suggestions on how to improve it, please comment.

Lose the -k cpu or get a Z170 motherboard. Can't overclock with a non z170/z270 board so having a -k is fairly useless unless you want the extra base clock speed.

Probably better to get 2x8GB sticks instead of 4x4, also try to get 3200 or 3000.

You don't have to pay for Win10 right away if you don't want to, download the media creation tool from Microsoft and use that to install it. Leave it unactivated until you're ready to pay. That's an extra $115 to spend.

FYI i am what you call a greenhorn to computers but if this info helps. your specs look good to me . May wanna get with your mobo document and see if you memory and cpu are compatible just incase you havent done so.. plus alot of time when you get cases there are removeable parts in the front for an optical drive so there should be no hole.
Id get a DvdR at least. Comes in handy when backing up. 800 watt power supply or higher would be better. If you plan on being a big gamer a higher storage hard drive would be better. 4 gigs at least. 1 gig goes really fast. Ive a total of 18 gigs. Already nearly full.

How would an 800w psu make any sense? A good quality 550w psu is good for pretty much any newer single gpu build.

4 gig hard drive? This isn't 1999...
Thanks for the help! :)
