Steam download speed locked at 600 kb/s max

My steam download speed cant go over 600 kb/s, this issue only happens with steam, with origin and uplay i can download games at 2 mb/s or more. I tried everithing, firewall, portforward etc. im going crazy. I seriously need help :(

Open Steam. Click "Steam" followed by "Settings". In the new window, go to the "Downloads" tab. In the box labelled "Limit bandwidth to", choose "No limit".

In the box labelled "Download Region", select a different region. You may need to try several different regions. Don't just try regions close to you, try regions in different geographical regions (e.g. different countries or even different continents.)

Click "OK" to confirm and test the issue.

It was the first thing I did. I think the issue is more complicated than this.

Can you post a speedtest.net result, just so we can establish your bandwith.

anything? this same thing has been going on since 2011 at least, and it still is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me. 200 kb/s is my cap though

I'm capped at 600 kb/s as well and I'm certain my internet speed is faster than this. I tried many different downlad regions and it didn't help.

Same problem as the rest of you, speed test showed 18+down 30 up,
Had to pause the outrageously slow download to check... After I resumed the download, low and behold, 6.7 mb/s download speed compared to the previous 568 Kb/s I was getting.

its sorta fixed, I had a steam update ages ago and its now at a higher speed

Guessing nobody has a solution still? I was downloading at 10mb/s for a few hours and then it dropped way down to 600kb/s I have 100 mbps connection and I’ve switched through at least twenty regions
