Gifting DOTA ITEMS
How do i actually GIFT an item from my inventory that I have had for ages (no I do not want to trade it because it wont let me)? Also why are some items untradeable, despite saying "tradeable after [specific date]".

Thing is, the date was last year in 2016, theyre not selectable when i open a trade window

Nay, some dota itens aren't tradeable, which means you cannot sell/trade them. To gift dota itens, open the game, go to your armory/inventory, select the item, right click it and select "Gift Wrap Item", select the person who will receive and send.

Pay attention that you can gift tradeable itens and itens which has a message saying "may be gifted".

Nothing comes up indicating I have a restriction, is there a specific way to check, also thanks for the feedback will try it from armory :)
